Watching this movie now is an interesting study on how America has responded to an increasingly clear awareness of the obesity and diabetes epidemic. Much of what we talk about with patients at Quality Health Care & Wellness was talked about in this 2004 film.

The surgeon general at the time warned that obesity is on pace to become the largest cause of preventable death in America, surpassing cigarettes. A study published in JAMA in January of 2013 suggests obesity is now linked to 18% of deaths in this country, making it the #1 cause of preventable death.
