We’re very excited to now be offering the Ideal Protein Method at Quality Health Care & Wellness. One of our primary goals with metabolic and overweight patients is to restrict sugars and carbohydrates in the diet to force of the burning of fat for energy. A key part of this process to maximize therapeutic affect is to preserve lean mass (muscle tissue). We want patients to burn fat, not muscle.
To achieve this, it’s critical that enough high quality proteins are consumed while restricting carbohydrates. The primary strategy that past attempts such as the Atkins diet have used is to allow virtually unlimited fats, which makes it more feasible to cut carbohydrates. However if the goal is fat loss then it doesn’t make much sense to ingest large quantities of fats, does it?
The challenge is that when you limit both carbohydrate and fat intake to achieve rapid weight loss and hormone balancing, finding practical meals that fit the bill takes extraordinary effort. That’s why I’ve offered protein-based partial meal replacements for some time now.
